… but “your sister megan” didn’t do these, did she?! i was wondering why someone would reduce the waist size on the 1st 3 pictures… it’s fucking ridiculous – “yeah, these girls are slim, but hey, let’s make them even slimmer”. wtf.

  2. Digitsis says:

i don’t have a problem so much with brightening the skin tone and eyes but I do object to slimming down thighs and waists and pumping up breasts

  3. Megan says:

Jennie- I do retouching with a NATURAL look. Not unnatural. For example, if someone wants to repair their photo or have a headshot retouched with more of a professional pop… that is where I come in :) RetouchFX.com — check it out!

    • Jennie says:

ok, cool, i’m sure you’re doing a great job at this! :) I just really have a problem with slimming people down and stuff. no offense.

  4. Megan says:

Thank you! I hear ya… these photos are to the extreme.. which is why it is on SheChive — a hilarious photo blog

  5. Darrika says:

Belly Fatson really needed the retouching…

  6. F-oo says:

So much for wishing to look like that when I’m old…
Well, not like THAT, but as “perfectt.”

  7. Anonymous says:

they actually made eva longoria’s arm larger

  8. HellHathNoFury says:

They make Kelly thinner, even though she’s not at all fat. They took away Beyonce’s tiny tummy skin. Perfect isn’t good enough!!

    • Darrika says:

Gurl IDK what planet you from but dat Belly bitch a fat ol’ bitch!

      • brit says:

you are incredibly misinformed if you think that kelly is any way "a fat ol' bitch". she's got a full butt and thighs; ie: curves. look how trim her waist is. if she were fat, she wouldn't be so well-defined in other areas. that lower half of hers comes from genetics, not cheeseburgers. calm down.

  9. nato2101 says:

I must be weird, but in at least half the photos (with women) i prefer the original/before photo. Especially the first two, and the C. Diaz one.

    • Hana says:

Same here. Some of the super air brushed ones look like Bratz dolls.

    • Ava says:

You are not weird, I feel the same way, the Before photos are REAL people. The After photos are only fantasy; I will never understand why photoshop is good, unless you are taking out red eye or a blooper.

  10. BangALang says:

I was watching Exiled once where one of the girls took a Cosmo to very primal Africa and one of the girls there asked if the models were real.

    ‘Nuf said.

  11. Keri says:

I understand erasing a pimple or a stray hair, etc. but who do they think they are slimming people’s waists/ thighs so drastically ? They also totally erased a face full of freckles! What the heck? I personally thought Cameron Diaz looked much hotter in the “before” photo. If it were me in those photos, I wouldn’t let them touch them. People need to know that these women they idolize are real people.

  12. Tanjila Jesmeen says:

    awesome..

  13. Anonymous says:

They all look great in the before pictures! It’s too bad they get plasticized. I’d rather look at the “before” pictures in magazines. But that’s why I don’t read magazines.

  14. AO says:

Eva L.’s arm was fleshed out! They made her (straight) waist have a curve, but made her arm more healthy looking. I like Eva but, girl, eat some more food!

  15. Giselle says:

I understand fixing a picture up to make things look neater or brighter…but it’s so sad that they people. They got rid of Naomi Watts’ freckles, Cameron Diaz’s abs, that guy’s scars on his face… They shouldn’t change distinctive features, they become too generic and unrelatable

  16. seethetruth says:

if any of you actually depended on your image being the source of your income, you would be saying things differently. and if people are dumb enough to idolise the image after it is retouched, they deserve what they get. the people behind the mask are not just pretty faces.

  17. IMO says:

It’s ridiculous. I think that’s why some celebrities have such problems with self image. Imagine seeing your “altered” self plastered over all the magazines, etc. & then you go home & look in the mirror. It must be difficult for them to live up to their fake images. One good thing, tho, it keeps the airbrush artists working!

  18. Katie says:

Cameron Diaz and Julia Styles look better without the amateur photoshop…

  19. daddy says:

why are you not doing the dishes?

  20. Jewel says:

Why are the before shots much more attractive?

  22. dt520 says:

Its funny how they almost all look better prior to photoshop. What actually surprised me here is that you don’t even have to take a decent pic to be a photographer now, almost every before pic is pixelated way beyond any professional standard.

  23. Tom's Dick is Hairy says:

    who is right below beyonce?

  24. blah says:

Not that it’s the only thing that was done, but a lot of these look better after because they are not as blurred as the before pictures and also some of the photos have some image adjustments like fixing the levels, contrast/saturation, etc. I wouldn’t consider those negative enhancements. It’d be more like making the photo more like it was actually suppose to appear. No appearance changing.

  25. shylady says:

Those who change their faces so much must have a reason why. Deep down they must feel ugly, they seem to try to change the outside hoping it will make them like a different person. i used to look that good a few decades ago, i would not have changed a thing, i was not out of the ordinary, but happy.

  26. Bob says:

None of this is necessary. If they want to have a model without freckles, then use a model without freckles. If the picture is out of focus, use a better photographer, If (X) is not what you want, then get (Y). I never feel lied to or anything when they use photoshop, I just think the people who decide to use it are fucking retarded.

  27. SImmayer says:

The main difference I noticed was that the second picture always had much better resolution. I"m goinback to check the other differences that wwere mentioned

  28. GollyDolly says:

It’s pretty sick that being an attractive woman is not enough – they still need to remove any individual characteristics before they’re considered fit to print! Still, we all keep buying into this crap. Next time you hand over a few quid for a magazine containing airbrushed images, remember you're paying them to make you feel ugly!
