I can say this from experience. I did Glamour Shots when I was 16. They MAKE you do that pop the collar shot. They force you into the same 2 or three poses: "Pop the Collar", "Show Off the Shoulder", "Hand in Your Chin"… you get the idea. Thought it looked cool, then saw my made-up face in natural light when I got out of the mall, and saw that I looked like a $2 hooker! Hey, it was the 90's!
Hiding the hickeys. Blargh.
Every single one of those women look like they give those photos out at the bars they live in.
I'm not sure what makes me laugh harder…the women trying to be sincere, or the men trying to be ironic.
I'm not sure if I should laugh, or cry.
No way all these pics should be on the same page. There goes my breakfast.
Although the ones that used a filter so heavy it looked like the photo was taken in a thick fog or just intentionally out of focus were funny, it has to be #27 FTW.
Some of them reminds me of my mother-in-law
ugh! Thank goodness my ex husband kept my "glamour shots". btw, they told us to pose with the hands around the collar like that! yes, mine are all just like these. Except there aren't any showing poses with the prop gun that they had you blow at!!!! That was truly the worst pic. They don't do these anymore do they? Hopefully this post may stop the cruelty.
Thats the 80's, dearest. Learn something.
i dont see any that are too horrible. sad? yes. should the photographer have said something? they might have. yes glamor shots did/does have the basics 2-3 shots they make you do but if you want something special they do that to… then YOU pick your pictures, they dont force you to buy the pictures if you dont like them.
they can only work with what you give them, that includes the clothing you bring not jsut you. i'm sure these people loved the pics they got.. or at least who ever paid for them loved them. if not.. well then they paided for bad pictures and thats there own fault.
I so remember these. I almost did one. I wish now that I had!
#27 is so , so unfortunate…;-p
Some are not so bad, just that era and… some ppl just are not conventionally "fortunate in appearance." I must admit that I did hair for a glamour photo-type of shot, for a time or two. Let this be a lesson: Do NOT cut your own hair.
Really, a lot of them are just dated. I'm sure the pictures that most people take today will seem outdated a few years down the road as well. That being said, you have to wonder what the guys with rose and feathers were thinking.
Actually, there's nothing wrong with several of those pictures. And yes, there's something horribly wrong with some of them. I want my mommy.
Someone tell me what's wrong with #23. Cute face and you have to take the hair in the context of 1993. Every era gets that what-were-they-thinking from future generations. Just wait 'til all of today's tragically hip cool guys show their kids pictures when they had a fauxhawk.
OK if I see one more person grab the collar or lapel of their jacket I will vomit
Oh wow! Makes me want to add my own 90s Glamour Shots, just for fun!!
I like #6! He is totally doing it as a joke.
I think number 6 looks like Rainn Wilson and, if so, he was definitely kidding!
Who's never had a Glamour Shot?
# 6 = Dwight Schrute
This is so mean spirited … these are ordinary people trying to look glamorous and having a "movie star moment" in their lives, being ridiculed with their photos being made public in attempt to entertain in such a sick manner. Shame on you.
Perhaps they have some deep-seated psychological disorder that makes them afraid to let go of their collars. At least this is a step up from the previous stage, where they were afraid to let go of their lapels.
I would say totally 80's …you can't take an average( or below in most of these cases) and make them look like a star by using beauty school rejects to do hair and makeup and a lousy JC penny Photographer…
