Using a clone brush over a photograph in Painter is NOT artistic or creative. Nor is it talent. It is just another means of tracing.
Look at this person's traditional works and you'll notice a marked difference in quality.
this is crap. all they are are photos with several photoshop effects layered over. you may as well trace and color a spiderman comic and call it your own creation.

I agree. I actually had dialog with the moderator of stars-portraits.com about this 'artist'. namely that what he/she is doing 'may' be creative but should be included on that site as portraits. I even uploaded to the moderator one of the 'paintings' and the original reference material photo (from simple google search) and overlayed them with 50 % opacity – and every single line, angle and feature aligned perfectly. It was the same with every 'painting'. It takes skill to visually assess the countless angles, shapes, features and shades in a person's face and then recreate them using a pencil or brush. This 'artist' does none of that yet reaps unwarranted accolades from people who think they created something. Manipulation and creation are two very different things.
Jessica Alba feels a little "one of these things is not like the other" in that crowd. 90% of those actors are Oscar winners and the others like Marilyn or Scarlet are at least in a ton of good Oscar caliber movies.
