I gotta say, though, whenever I went to Discovery Zone it was always almost completely empty, so my friends and I had the place to ourselves.
It was definitely better than Chuck E. Cheese.
It's didn't last because you had to pay just to get in then pay in order to play in the play place or just go over to the arcade which didn't have a lot. The food was nasty as well.

I used to love those Invisible Ink books. Best "by-yourself" entertainment as a kid. Now that we're older, there's plenty of other ways to have "by-yourself" enjoyment.
