I think the majority of the roads prutcied were of the road made famous by Top Gear, the Transfagarasan Highway, also known as “Ceausescu’s folly”. Nicolae Ceausescu was a notorious Romanian dictator and President of Romania from 1974 to 1989. The bendy bits are what I am referring to.
