#1 What a terribly sad photo for the elephant
It has chains around it's leg(s) and it's not just because of the photoshoot. The elephant could kill the actor with just it's trunk. It has chains around it because that is the life it most likely lives. Probably in that little stall most of the time and chained up all the time. We, as humans, need to stop this exploitation of animals for our own gain. I know of a place, and let me emphasize that I am in NO WAY affiliated with them, but if you want to see how an elephant should REALLY LIVE IT'S LIFE IN CAPTIVITY search for 'The Elephant Sanctuary' in Tennessee. Those people genuinely love and adore their gentle giants and they live on THOUSANDS of acres where they roam free every day. 
#1 I loved the book, and am looking forward to the movie. I think Christoph Waltz will more than make up for Robert Pattinson. Plus, I think he's more attractive too.
