Anne Hathaway had a dramatic photo shoot for Interview Magazine. The shots were photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and styled by Karl Templer. Everything looks very professional - she is wearing designer items from head to toe. But then she started talking about Jersey Shore and things start to go south.

Clothing and celebrities are the only ways of pulling in a female audience? It may be true, but sadly this website is just like any other woman website. Materialistic and boring. Give women some credit, no?
I can't believe no one has commented on the caliber of these photographs. They're gorgeous. Composition is spot on, and black and white is the perfect medium to emphasize the contrast between the clothes and her skin and to allow a dramatic play of shadow which would be lost in colour. There's a dreamlike quality to them. I love that the photographer actually had her express emotion with her face; most models tend to vapidly pout at the camera in every shot. The last photo, the one of her sitting with her hand to her mouth and the creases evident on her brow, is powerful. Usually those lines would be photoshopped out of a magazine photo, but leaving them there lends the shot a gravity not typical of fashion rags. I love this photo series, and I still love Anne despite the Jersey Shore crack. She's a great actress and a beautiful woman.
