first person is right, although it can last a few days, butter will mold. the mold is white and not very noticable. but will make you very sick.
that's ridiculous, I keep about 1/3 a stick of butter out at a time and it's never gone rancid or had any mold. Gold butter is impossible to spread.
We always keep our butter out in a butter dish, it has never spoiled nor made us sick.
Yeah, us too. Butter sits out in a butter dish on the counter nonstop. Probably takes about a week to go through a cube. Never made us sick. My grandma always kept hers on the counter, guess that's why I never gave it a second thought.
