‘Home Alone’ house sells for $1M less than asking price (16 photos)

What the hell did they do to it? It used to look so cool!

I think it is too white now…there isn't any of that great color it used to have.

If it were me who bought it, I'd restore the house to it's former glory, exactly as it was in the film! Then open it as a tourist attraction and charge visitors just enough so that they cover my bills and mortgage.

bet they could have gotten (at minimum) asking price if they had just left it alone….

They had to update the wallpaper-especially in the market where it was for sale.

the decor in the movie wasn't actually the original decor – the movie people redecorated for the filming.. but i completely agree, the owners should have left it like that! the light colours do NOTHING for the house :S love the idea of restoring it and opening it to tourists!

Whoever "staged"/decorated this house did a horrible job. They removed all the charm from the home.

It's much too white now. I like the design of the house as it is currently, but not to live in. The original style looks like a home, you can almost feel comfy and snuggly, just by looking at it. How it is now…It's got nothing on the original! Which is probably why it didn't make the sellers as much, Cold Hard Cash!

they ruined are childhood memories of that home I would love to wake up every day to that house keep me feeling like a kid all day and when I watched the movie it would be totally cool! but they turned into the white house I agree leave home alone would of just replaced the kitchen countertops

This is a sad sight! She used to have so much character and elegance! The house's soul has been ripped out and now stands there an empty shell. I hope the new owners will return her to her former glory.
