#24 One of my kids texted me to say to say that there was a fire at work. When I asked him what happened he said he did not know but once they got outside he would call me. He was texting me from the stairwell. Dummy. I am sending him this!

#12 – disowning a toxic and abusive family unit kept me alive and able to heal from the past, I legally changed my name, moved to another province and have never been happier. Second chances at life are there, but sometimes we're too afraid to take that big first step. We focus on the closed door and why it's closed, rather than the open door that leads to positive change. Voila, my psych advice of the day!

My divorce. It has been the bravest and most empowering thing I've ever done for myself. I have learned that I am truly amazing.

#12. Life changing when I found out at 6 months pregnant my first child (a girl) had down syndrome and serious heart defects, and shortly thereafter my first husband died. I finally learned empathy and how to accept help, and that success for any of my children will not be measured by how many of my unfulfilled dreams they live out , but rather by how happy, joy-filled and loved they are!

#12 I got hit by a tractor trailer on my driver's side on the highway. I was the only one in the car. They had to use the jaws of life to get me out and it took them about 20 minutes. I hit my head and had only 60 stitches. The police & rescue people on the scene could not believe that I survived. I believe I def had a few people looking down on me that way. I look at life in a whole new light & I am always grateful to be alive!!
