Katy Perry explains her new movie & spontaneous fashion choices (5 photos)

Katy Perry had a photo shoot and talked with Teen Vogue to help promote her new movie coming out. Check out some highlights below:

On being little more glamorous than the average singer-songwriter:
"I don't like to take fashion too seriously. I love it, and I am so grateful when big brands want to associate with me, but mostly I just want to take chances and have fun and truly live. And sometimes that means wearing some ridiculous, cat-inspired outfit rather than whatever happens to be in this season."

So why did she decide to make a movie?
"I wanted to document the tour, because when we started to book these really big venues, I felt like I was going all in. And I figured that by the end of it I'd be bankrupt or else I'd look like the smartest music businesswoman of my age, and I thought either outcome would be interesting. More than that, though, I wanted to show people this parade that surrounds me ... I wanted them to see the engine. I think sometimes they look at me and wonder, How is it possible that she continues to have this kind of success? Why are the stars so aligned for her? But, while that is a factor, it's not the whole story. I also work my tail off! And, of course, I wanted people to be able to experience the tour and all the joy it brought, which is why we shot it in 3-D. And this is amazing 3-D. It's definitely not just a marketing tool."

#4 In this hair style the hair color kinda works, it seems to bring out her eyes really nicely.

I actually really like the blue on her

Really? I think it's sort of childish for someone her age. I miss her long, dark hair.

I really like Katy Perry, but "not for marketing"? Come on, if it wasn't for marketing then she should release a free version of the movie online if she just wants to show people what its like.

I'm not into her music (I'm more of a metal fan) but I think that movie looks interesting and she seems like a nice person.

Who the hell is going to watch this in a theatre?

I think the only thing I find appealing about Katy is her looks. I really hate how sexual she is, not in a classy way, but really just another Nicki Manaj. Though her childish demeanor can be charming, she comes off as rather narcissistic. Even though it's not my general taste, I would respect her for her music if she wrote it, but she doesn't. She's credited as co-writer, but pop artists always are, Dr. Luke wrote 90% of her hits. I get that she works hard as a performer, I just can't respect her as an artist.
