You'll notice the video doesn't normally start to play until there is sufficient grey already loaded in.
This acts as a buffer so that you don't have the video stopping and starting during play, which would be very annoying indeed.

Agreed! The last time I did that I took my BF 5 minutes to unhook me because our stupid door handle has a damn spiral thing and I was all sorts of hung up on it. FML. At least I am not alone
