It looks like each bead is slit down the side and then put on (look at the green one), which would be a pain to do

I was thinking cutting the wires… :/

It looks like an exacto blade on the edge of the pic. I'm thinking the beads are cut down the side and then slipped onto the wire.

I really like this, but it kills me to deface any book, even one that looks like an old dictionary. Otherwise these would hang in my apartment… =/
