Try 1976, with Sissy Spacek and John Travolta…people don't remember this movie?!
http://twitter.com/novajellyfish @novajellyfish
Right? I think theBerry is referring to a possible upcoming remake but still. Sissy Spacek will always be Carrie to me.
Lisa
ALSO: The Life of Pi, Brave New World, and Cat's Cradle.
ninsarama
yes to life of pi! oh and Ender's Game
Monica
Carrie has been a movie since 1976. Starring Sissy Spacek who was brilliant.

A Confederacy of Dunces is a FANTASTIC book, I can't believe it's being made into a movie! That is definitely one I'll be seeing if it actually happens.
Lisa
Read #16 already – can just recommend it <3<3
Emilybeth
You for got the Lord of the Rings books!
lexxy
they've already been made into movies! but a good read nonetheless
mazlow01
I think they meant The Hobbit which comes out later this year I believe.
hottimasprime
#14 Was my coming of age book. And the reason why tigers eye is my favorite stone.
Jenni268
#7 I read this one. I felt like I was cheating on actual literature the entire time.
Jenni
Really? I heard so many great things about it I was thinking about buying it! Did you hate the twilight books too? If so I might still have to buy #7…
DeAnna
I found it a decent read. It's fairly easy to get through, read each of the books in the course of a day or two depending on how busy I was…Though a lot of people don't fancy them, I didn't find them bad at all.
Jenni268
I actually did enjoy Twilight. They weren't the best, most life-changing novels I've ever read, but I enjoyed them! 50 is just, well… not very well written.
baylee
I am half way through the second book. The books are definitely poorly written, but then again, I don't suggest going in expecting Shakespeare. If you go in with the mindset that the books will be entertaining, mindless, and kind of plotless quick summer reads, I don't think you will be disappointed. Also, they're kind of dirty and the dialogue quite silly so it is definitely a book to read along with some girlfriends and kind of giggle over.
Furdurp
Oh I couldn't agree with you more. Not only was it horribly written, it doesnt even come close to touching on the real world of BDSM. As just a normal story it was bad bad bad. Urgh who says oh baby that was good?
Bobbi_1025
They were the worst books I've ever read. The writing itself was crappy and phrases were used over and over. I have read other books that had better sex than these as well. And to tell you the truth some in this was just gross(tampon scene).
Alisha
#7 Worst book I have ever read!!!
kelsey
AGREED
Ash
I read it too, the story was kind of interesting because it was about things I know nothing about, but was very poorly written. I had a lot more expectations for #7!!
Brit
"She murmured." Did anyone else notice that they murmured everything?
Andi
YES!!! what is with that, the author defiantly could have made better use of a thesaurus
Bobbi_1025
And she looked through her lashes and listened to her inner goddess about the whole time. I think there needs to be a drinking game for these books.
SadeShadz
#7 Wouldn't happen to be available as an ebook??
Alyssa
Yes it is!
punkie panda
Yes
lee
When i read that Fifty shades of grey started out as a Twilight fan fiction….I eye rolled all the way to next week :/
Seriously people love crap.
ddd
It was some very satisfying crap and honestly some of the things I enjoyed most about these books (besides the kinky f#ckery) were the typos and terrible writing. Sometimes crap is a good way to get a good laugh and forget about life for awhile!
lee
i agree sometimes crap can be fun, but when people get so rich off of it, while those with actual talent are so often overlooked, it gives me sads.
Lisa
"It gives me sads" hahahaha that's hilarious.
Sien
Well, but you can read that for free on the internet, too. It's called fanfiction and some of it is actually good! I really think people should stop buying these books, because they're a terrible example of fanfiction.
lee
i read fanfiction all the time and some of it is really good! BUT that someone becomes a millionaire off of a smutty fanfic they originally wrote for *vomit* TWILIGHT, and then just replaced the characters with their own, is just a whole big bag of NO.
Little Cupcake
You forgot "The Help". Good book and movie!
Laa
Harry Potter!
Samantha
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter! The movie looks promising, but the book was fantastic!!
Kate
Just finished the book loved it!
Maia
Movie is ok. Nowhere as brilliant as the book is. If you go in not expecting the movie to be anything like the book you wont be too disappointed. Unfortunately Seth Grahame Smith left out a lot of little details that made the book so great. Mostly Henry's back story and the end of the book.
Abbey
Seriously does Hollywood have no original ideas that they have to make every book into a movie ?
themindrunnethover
nope, almost every movie coming out now is a sequel, a remake, a book-turned-movie, or an adaptation of another story
bbbbb
Whats wrong with making a book into a movie? I love seeing the characters that I loved and imagined become "real".
Abbey
There's nothing wrong with it !! It just seems like that's all hollywood does anymore !!
Jadeus
for me, hollywood does a painfully bad job of making books into movies… for example, Darren Shan is my fave author and the movie (cirque du freak the vampires assistant) made me cry in the cinema it was that poorly executed… i also didn't mind harry potter up to the 4th book but the movies to me were just awful… i pray that The Book Thief is never made into a movie or i will definitely be moving off this planet!
kirinjirafa
There's also The Night Circus
sam
Good one! Read it again today actually
http://mollymerly.wordpress.com mollymerly
Carrie has been made and redone several times, and if you've ever seen "Thirst," it's Therese Raquin + vampires.
Sarah
"The Guardian" – This is a Nicholas Sparks novel that isn't his usual love story stuff and is FANTASTIC. It is my favorite book BY FAR written by Sparks and if they ever make it into a movie I will be the first in line to see it.
You should also read "The Great Gatsby" before it comes out later.
Hell, you should probably read most books turned movies before they become the movie, but most people don't read.
themindrunnethover
the great gatsby movie looks SO GOOD I've already read the book, would highly recommend
Jenna
The Guardian is my favorite too…by far.
Lisa
Oh and "Water for Elephants"! Terrble, terrible movie, FANTASTIC book.
hmmm
FIFTY SHADES OF GRAY is actually a Twilight fanfiction once known as Master of the Universe. The author changed the names and the fact he was a vampire. This is book is pure crap.
JenPen
"The Peaceful Warrior Collection" by Dan Millman was one of the greatest books I have ever read. Unfortunately it was turned into a horrible movie that didn't even come close to capturing the meaning of the book. Absolutely amazing book!!
mimi
Lots of those are already movies
bloomfever2002
janet Evanonvich's Stephanie Plum series is amazing and hilarious. One for the money came out already and a few of us die hard Plum fans went to see it. Not bad but not nearly as good as the movies.
Mia
#5 YES!!! Love that book, can't wait for November 23, 2013!!! (yes I do know the year) (:
ale
Mockingjay was a little traumatic for me (not that I consider them bad)… I´m I the only one?
