Sadly, I've actually done this more than once.

But whoa….. it's called fitness/bodybuilding competitions, tan is used to show lines of muscles and promote shadows! WHOA!!!

The other comment is correct although they don't need to be so snarky. The super orange look is necessary in fitness competition. a lot of it is an oily spray bronzer that washes off in the shower.
