#12 Looks like they need a few more Daily Motivation posts…..

    • dakari84

you're kinda being the opposite of motivating with your comment there.

    • hmm

I do not agree with the comment. But, I thought this post is to motivate people to get fit and healthy. Not to celebrate every shape and size. I don't consider the three ladies from right as fit… Just an opinion…

    • Heather

      fail.

    • WisGal_KCCO

This picture is in response to the outcry over the last week's Dove "Real Beauty Campaign". It's simply showing that real women come in all shapes and sizes. There is no only supporting thin girls, and there is no only supporting thicker girls. We're all real women, and we all deserve to be recognized as such.
P.S. The Berry is not a place for negativity, as you may realize from the thumbs down. Just sayin… :)

      • Dexter

negativity doesn't mean that Drdrai 1122 is wrong ….It simply shows that it's something that hurts girls ears/feelings.
It's the same thing when men say " we come in all shape/size" so why choosing always the big tall men ? because it's so and when it regards women's decision, no argument is possible from men . So why arguing with Drdrai ? what he/she says is not pleasant, but like the rest, it's true most of the time ( which doesn't mean " always" before you thumb down ) . Besides, motivation doesn't always come from " good people" making " good comments" about you ( how beautiful you are, how clever you are; how wonderful you are and so on ! if it's true, you have no reason to change/progress and therefore you don't need a motivation ? ) …sometimes it's something bad or unpleasant that can kick your ass into motivation.

    • phedre

I think Daily Motivation is more about getting people to push themselves to do whatever their goals are.. and sometimes that's as simple as accepting ourselves. I don't think Daily Motivation is about getting every woman to fit into a size 6.

      • Celeste

AGREED! And Daily Motivation IS about being healthy, and that includes mental health which goes hand-in-hand with fitness or physical health.

    • Grumpygoose

totally agree.. unhealthy isn't good and those who are an unhealthy weight shouldn't be coddled. Yes ladies come in all sizes and some of those sizes should motivate themselves to become a healthy size. the last three women more then likely aren't healthy….thats not mean its the truth. dont accept unhealthy and someones lack of care for their body..they were given a perfect body and let it go to hell.

      • just me

The skinny girls aren't necessarily any healthier

      • Debra

This is just an obnoxious comment all around. Everyone has their own vision of what healthy is, there are plenty of skinny people that are 'unhealthy' but don't fit your mold. I've seen thicker people run marathons just fine, and I've seen skinny people come to the ED because they have a slew of health problems (some have had multiple coronary bypasses). Everyone's body is perfect they way they are, encouraging anything else is simply promoting women to fit standards imposed by society.

    • pippy

Wrong. Sure, it's good to work out. But you need to enjoy the body you have now and live life. :D

      • Chivettest

It's hard to live life to the fullest when you have given yourself physical limitations from committing slow suicide. Yes, Obesity is literally killing yourself.
Daily Motivation has always shown that you should take care of your body, eat healthy and enjoy the out doors and take full advantage of everything life has to offer.
Women do come in all shapes and sizes but there is no need to continue to coddle unhealthy people to make them feel better. They should feel bad about how they look because how they look is a direct reflection of the bad things they are doing themselves and no one should feel good about treating yourself badly.
An obese person isn't eating healthy, taking care of their body, fully enjoying life or able to enjoy outdoor activities.

        • Dexter

Hands down to you Chivettest, you perfectly summarized it !Thanks for your post .
Sadly we're living in a society where women can ( and they do ) criticize men, but if men dare to criticize women…boooh boooh evil sad bitter men …sad but true.

        • Hayley

Would it surprise you to know that size isn't always an indicator of fitness or strength? You are judging those women based on their size, from a picture – that doesn't indicate that they are unhealthy. Yeah, they might be – but I don't think that's the point here. The point is that it's healthy to know and accept your body. (And once you are aware of your body, all sorts of change is possible). I think that's why this image has been included in the Daily Motivation – it's not celebrating largeness, it's encouraging a healthy attitude.

          • Dexter

Everything in Science contradicts your belief Hayley …sorry : http://healthhubs.net/heartdisease/waist-size-prehttp://www.fatfreekitchen.com/cholesterol/heart_dhttp://aje.oxfordjournals.org/content/141/12/1117http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/04/0904
Being kind is a thing, being naive is not helping yourself with false belief . The blablabla love yourself/accept yourself is destroyed IF you're a bit clever and the minute you're trying to find a partner online when you're fat or/ ugly ( men or women ).

            • just me

I've taken care of plenty "skinny" but not healthy people after open heart surgery or lung surgery. Yes those smaller tend to be healthier but it is NOT a guarantee by any means

              • Dexter

You' re absolutely right . But that was not the initial purpose of the discussion, i didn"t mean to be rude to " fat people" by glorifying the skinnier ( especially because i was a fat teen …so i saw all the bad points/hypocrisy of this kind of stuff …all the good willing women stopped to be kind and caring angel the minute you asked them to go out with you….ahem…just …let's ..be friend and so on ….) . So go on thumb down me, but every fat kid will explain you their suffering of being fat ( physically and psychologically ) .
Being fat is not a good point for your heath – the end .It's not popular to say it, and no one loves this kind of ugly truth but sorry it's life and everyone heard about the cost of obesity on public health budget…so probably not a coincidence or an urban legend.
And being skinny has other kind of issues ( the worst being anorexia ) and no one will argue on that . Actually being healthy is a full-time job which requires a lot of motivations.

              • Hayley

Yeah, I think that affirms the point I was trying to make. I definitely wasn't trying to encourage obesity and unhealthy habits. Thanks :)

            • doerteee

I'm really tired right now and don't feel like looking it up, but Hayley is not as wrong as you think. You could find plenty of science-y stuff that actually shows that being overweight (by itself) does not make you unhealthy in any way and it can prevent certain diseases, but don't ask me for details right now.

But even unhealthy people deserve to be treated with respect, just like everybody else. Being healthy doesn't make you "better".

              • Chivettest

No one deserves anything. People need to stop going through life so self-entitled. "I deserve this, I deserve that, me me me blah"
You EARN respect and everything else in life. No one is born with anything and everything must be worked for.

After you reach a certain BMI or body fat percentage it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to be healthy. There is no science in the world that will prove that wrong. Human bodies and simple not equipped to handle that much pressure.

I have never said being SKINNY is the only healthy way to live, being HEALTHY is the only HEALTHY way to live. Knocking obesity isn't knocking having a larger frame.
Fit into your BMI and keep your body fat percentage within a healthy range and you're on the right track to being healthy.
Half the women in the photo are fat, they aren't toned or have muscle visible, they have FAT visible. Fat is a sign of being unhealthy.

                • Dexter

Chivettest, you rule !!!! I do agree with you so much ….i'm a bit tired of lazy people trying to make their point and find excuses to argue endlessly on things which are obviously against their own beliefs/lifestyle . Each of your post should be an example for every reader ( male AND female ) . After that, you're fat ? you 're happy that way ? you found love already ? and have a wonderful life? with happy healthy beautiful childrens ? ok you did it …bravo! i wish you'll be able to enjoy your luck as long as possible. The rest ? you're fat/skinny/normal/tall/short/handsome/gorgeous/ugly but unhappy with yourself ? realise simply that you have to EARN your self respect and therefore everyone's respect by simply doing things for you that you though were impossible . Self confidence comes from what you're doing, not from blablablabla .

        • Celeste

          Everyone deserves respect.

          • Chivettest

No one "deserves" respect. You EARN respect.
I can't respect anyone who doesn't respect them self.

            • Dexter

And to all people, girls are usually the best detector for this kind of stuff ( self confidence ) and this does explain why they're choosing sometimes " douche" as boyfriends ..But sometimes, being aware of our own values is the best way to shine in a girl/ men's eyes .

            • Debra

Everyone deserves respect let's not promote rudeness because you believe differently.

              • Chivettest

No one deserves anything. People need to stop going through life so self-entitled. "I deserve this, I deserve that, me me me blah"
You EARN respect and everything else in life. No one is born with anything and everything must be worked for.

Since you probably didn't read it. ^

Again, no one deserves anything. You EARN everything.
You're promoting rudeness by encouraging people to be self-entitled and by living your life in such a crude uneducated manner.
Obese people aren't healthy, its science, not an opinion. Get over it or continue to be rude (Adj. Ignorant and uneducated)
