#3 scares me. It seems too obsessive.
If you're trying to lose weight, counting every calorie is really important. It's a little obsessive at first, but once you start, you just start knowing stuff about what you're putting into your body. I'd rather know what's going in there so I don't have to kill myself trying to work it off later.
No. Eating a calorie of protein is a vastly different hormonal response in the body than eating a calorie of sugar. You need to be more concerned about what you're eating than you are how much of it. Food quality is step 1. Eliminate sugar, dense carbs, and dairy. Gobble up all the protein and veggies you can.
This also teaches portion control! Eating all the protein you can can put you over your calorie intake limit and put you into ketosis. Yes, eat more protein, fiber, and veggies… If you're a diabetic, limit fruits, etc. This is just a TOOL to help you know what you're eating, when, why, and how you feel, and that can't be a bad thing.
This is a really helpful tool for people who are diabetic or are trying to determine if they are. You have to keep track of your foods in order to see what causes spikes or to show a doctor or Paramedic what might be wrong in an emergency situation. It is a pain in the neck, but very helpful in preventing crashes or spikes. If you know someone who is diabetic, send them a copy of this.
I have kept a food diary for about 3 years now. It's not as detailed as this one but for someone who has a lot of food intolerance issues, it's so helpful to figure out what makes me sick. It's also great to keep tabs on how much/when I'm eating so that I can improve my health
try downloading MyFitnessPal. i have it on my iphone and it helps me count calories. i put in a goal and my current weight. i love it! i only do it 5 days a week. so im not overly obsessive about it!

Omg! I can't believe my picture is on here (this is so cool). But just to make sure, "115" was my summer goal weight.
#14, all true, however lemon water is extremely hard on your enamel which leads to erosion. If the erosion gets worse your teeth yellow. To counteract it chew gum with xylitol, and DONT brush after drinking it, you brush off the softened enamel.
lemon water also helps you burn more fat!!!
