Because finding things would be IMPOSSIBLE! Not author, or title, or year… Spine colour is literally the least memorable detail about a book.

Not only that, but a lot of those books had to have been purchased for color, not for content. Most of the spines on the books I have are multicolored, with distinctly different font color.
