Well this hottie didn't go unnoticed on theBERRY. There's a reason we're featuring him as HMOTB of the Week. Not only is he handsome, he has a soft spot for the kiddies. As always, I'll let him take it from here...
First off, I want to say that I'm absolutely flattered to be chosen for HMOTB. My name is Jay Sanglir. I'm not entirely sure what to answer when people ask me where I'm from. Although Thailand is where I consider home, you could say I'm somewhat of a vagabond. Places I've lived are Nepal>Thailand>India>Thailand>Kansas>LA in that order. I've thoroughly enjoyed my latest adventure, having spent the last four years in Southern California playing college soccer & getting a Bachelor's degree in the process. Now I'm back in Thailand, just moved here a couple months ago to start working on my Master's degree.
I've been spending a lot of my time back in Thailand helping out at a children's home here. It's been really great to be able to spend time with and help those less privileged & fortunate. I've been so blessed and given so much in my life I think it's only fitting to give back in the little ways that I can. The kids are a lot of fun and are wicked good at soccer. They are also very eager to learn English so I've spent some time teaching them as well. I think a lot of my life experiences really help me connect and relate to those from different cultures and backgrounds. Being trilingual doesn't hurt either.
People who know me will tell you that I'm super laid back and carefree. I have this uncanny ability to remain positive regardless of the situation and that's really helped me through a lot. Over the years I've learned to just enjoy the little things, life's too short to spend worrying.
My passions are soccer, travelling, family, and cheesecake. Not necessarily in that order but those are all things that I can't live without. I love trying new things, experiencing new cultures, and meeting new people. Feel free to follow me on twitter (@jaysanglir) although all I really do on there is rant about soccer. I tend to share my epiphanies and cat videos on Facebook more.
Thank you so much again for this opportunity.
