#2… wtf is going on here? Did her arms shrink?

    • Beret

They're bent at the elbow, I assume she's either doing a push up, or a plank in a lowered push-up position. WOW

I'm kinda sore from my workout yesterday, but I really want to run today… but I don't want to be in pain lol D:
I got the "Zombies, Run!" app and it's making me want to run like 5 times per day. Those of you who don't know it should probably look it up, it's so much fun, and it's available for iOS and Android.
There is a Zombies 5k app for beginners too that slowly teaches you to be able to run a 5k, with zombies!

Anyway, I have a question, Berries. I'm naturally very skinny, to the point of "OMG ARE YOU ANOREXIC" or "EAT A SAMMICH OMG" and I'm currently ALMOST underweight and I want to gain weight in a healthy way. I'm afraid if I just do it via building muscle, I'll end up looking like Madonna.
    Any tips?

If you want to gain weight, doing cardio like running or biking won't help you. That type of exercise builds cardiovascular fitness (if you are very fit with your cardio, than you will have a lower resting heart rate, which means your heart isn't having to work so hard because it is nice and strong from all the running you are doing).

Cardio doesn't help you gain weight as well as other types of exercise. Weight lifting and strength training are the best things to do for muscle gain. You won't buff up like Madonna unless you overdo it. Try doing exercises that use your own body weight, like a push-up or a jumping squat.

More importantly, be sure to eat lots of healthy fat and complex carbs. Maybe speak with a nutritionist about what the best foods for you would be to help you maintain a healthy weight :)

#1 is so true. I've been living healthy for a little over a month by eating right and daily exercise. I feel great and yesterday we went to a party and several friends complicated me about how great I look. Thank you berrie for the daily motivation.

#4 is a bit of a rip-off from yoda isn't it? "Do, or do not. There is no try."

I am doing a Tough Mudder at the end of July and started my training yesterday…I know, it's over 6 months away, but I want to make sure I am ready! I'm starting with 3 months of an Insanity/ P90X hybrid before I actually begin running outdoors (I've done Insanity before so I know what to expect). It's going to be an intense 6 months but I'm very much looking forward to getting in the 2nd best shape of my life! (I say second because I did gymnastics when I was younger and was in amazing shape then)….I <3 my Daily Motivation

I'm embarking on a long journey from obesity to healthy. I'm not fooling myself its going to be tough. I always skipped past Motivation posts before now, but lately I have been scrolling with interest and a great deal of enthusiasm (tinged slightly with fear). I use some of the pictures as my wallpaper for my iPad and motivate myself every day
