Few things in this world will force you to angrily mutter “first world problems” under your breath like an unripe avocado that should’ve been ripe by now, damnit.
You know the feeling. You’re lying in bed thinking about how you’re going to scoop a delicious spoonful of green magic onto your eggs the following morning. You’re at the gym, pumpin’ iron, dreaming of the turkey and avocado sandwich that will find its forever home in your stomach within the hour. You come home and that lil green monster is hard as a rock. Now your eggs will never achieve the buttery texture you were craving. Your turkey sandwich is just turkey and cheese, and what are you even doing with your life?
You are understandably upset, because like any normal person you realize the avocado is The Universe’s gift to humans to make up for shit like wolf spiders and UTIs, and without it nothing is as good. Nothing.
Which is why this life hack might just be the most joyous thing you read all week: You can now ripen a totally unripe avocado in just ten minutes. This is not a drill.
All you need is: an oven, tin foil, a baking sheet, and an unripe avocado.
Set the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, cover the avocado in foil, and stick that sucker in the oven. Set a timer for 10 minutes, and don’t forget.
I’m serious, don’t forget. After ten minutes pull the little dude out and stick him in the fridge so he can cool off.
THAT’S IT. THAT’S LITERALLY IT. Avocado on everything, forever, STAT. You’re welcome.
