Free the nipple! That will never fail to make me laugh (real mature, I know). You’ve probably heard this social campaign mentioned a time or two. If not, it’s exactly how it sounds: the goal is to make boobs more acceptable in society. Because, who doesn’t love boobs, right?
Anyway, this equalization movement was taken to the next level on a British beach where hundreds of men and women went topless in a staged protest. Attendees argued it makes no sense for social media to ban women’s nipples but allow men’s. The afternoon march started at Brighton Pier, and then headed along the East Sussex city seafront before stopping on the beach – where everybody sunbathed topless.

According to Metro U.K., the event was organized by comedian Samantha Pressdee, who came to Brighton with her one-woman comedy show about nudity and sexuality.
“I’ve been a member of the Free The Nipple campaign over the past year. I joined the campaign to challenge the way women’s breasts were perceived. Breasts have been sexualized and the point of this campaign is that they don’t have to sexual.” Samantha said.
A member who attended the event said:
“It was lovely, I felt proud and fantastic. There wasn’t any negativity or aggression, all we got was a lot of smiles and a lot of support and cheering.”
The group is already planning their next protest for August 28th which is coincidentally International Go Topless Day (an event that rallies in 60 cities around the world). Check out more information about this powerful campaign HERE and don’t be afraid to free your nipples!
