It’s been a decade since 2006. Let that sink in for a minute. What were you doing 10 years ago? Better yet, what music were you listening to? The nostalgia just got so real didn’t it? For better or worse, time is always flying by faster than we can handle.

At least we have music to take us back to those awkward grade school days whenever we feel like escaping the world of “adulthood”, even if only for a short while. Ri Ri was killin’ it back in 2006 when she released this hit track off of her second studio album A Girl Like Me. Fast forward a decade later and her career has skyrocketed. This girl knows how to put in work…work, work, work.

Will those hips ever lie? Probably not. It’s literally impossible to sit still to Shakira. My “somewhat-hips” are already shaking to this as we speak.

3. Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland – “Promiscuous”


I remember the first time I heard this song thinking it was so raunchy and how much my parents would probably hate it. So, naturally I downloaded it and danced to the track about a zillion times. It still gets me moving.

4. Beyonce feat. Slim Thug – “Check On It”

Queen Bey, always slaying. One of her earlier hits, this track was all over the middle school dance floor.

5. Natasha Bedingfield – “Unwritten”


The rest is still unwritten! Seriously, I can never be in a bad mood when this song comes on. Be honest, you have to start singing during that chorus.

6. Justin Timberlake – “Sexy Back”


JT taking sexy way TF back in 2o06. Feeling old yet? This song is a decade old. Yes, we are dancing at our computers right now and no, we are not one bit ashamed.

7. Gnarls Barkley – “Crazy”

Back before he decided to be on The Voice, Gnarles Barkley dropped this hit that was probably on every high school playlist I ever made.

Was anyone else a little confused by this music video? Nonetheless, the song will always be a favorite and one you definitely can’t sit still to.

9. Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx – “Gold Digger”


She take my money, when I’m in need…Back before Kanye was as in love with Kanye as he is now, he dropped this track with Jamie Foxx. I guess we can rule out the song being about Kim Kardashian…

10. Black Eyed Peas – “My Humps”


The Black Eyed Peas at their finest with Queen Fergie Ferg. Be honest, you’re already singing the lyrics, aren’t you? Also, is that a Bend And Snap? Where TF is Elle Woods?

11. Cascada – “Every Time We Touch”


Ready to have a serious dose of nostalgia? Crank up this Cascada hit and you’ll awkward dance yourself straight back to grade school.

12. Fall Out Boy – “Dance, Dance”


Remember when Pete Wentz was our teenage punk heartthrob? Where the hell did he go? But seriously, this was by far the best Fall Out Boy music video ever made.

13. Sean Paul “Temperature”
