How many times have you “borrowed” your boyfriend’s hoodie or t-shirt? Like a dozen just this week probably. There’s something about men’s clothes that is just so incredibly comfortable. You curl up inside that oversized sweater or maybe slip on his baggy sweats and it just feels like heaven.
In case you didn’t know, you don’t have to have a boyfriend to reach this level of undeniable comfort, duh. You can actually go into a store (or online) and buy men’s clothes for yourself. Not only do they feel like a warm hug on your body, but they’re typically cheaper AND they make for perfect fall layers. Here are just a few items to start buying from the men’s rack.
1. Oversized Knit Sweaters
Because what’s better on a cool fall day than a big cozy sweater? You can wear it with just about anything like leggings and a big t-shirt. Not to mention, it can even be pulled off as a sweater dress if you’re a shorty like me.
2. Button Down Shirts
There’s nothing quite like wrapping yourself up in a men’s button down. Whether it’s after a night of fun or just because you saw it and H&M and needed something different to wear, it can be the perfect addition to any outfit. Try a thin waist belt to give the top a little shape.
3. Athletic Tees
Tbh, I love a good athletic tee. They’re so cute with a fitted jacket or tied at the side with a skirt and some sneakers. Also, you can also cut it up and use it as a gym tank.
Beanies are seriously the best part of colder weather, imho. Even though they’re fairly unisex in style, try fishing through the men’s racks of winter hats. You’ll be surprised at how cute some of their styles can be.
Not “boyfriend style” jeans, but real boyfriend jeans. Cuff the bottoms, throw on a pair of pumps, and maybe add a cute jacket around the waist, and you’re good to go. Not to mention, ten times more comfortable than the girls in super tight skinny jeans.
6. Basic Tee
Everyone loves a good basic tee, but why spend more money than you have to? Snag a pack of white tees from the guys section, tuck them in to a pair of high waisted pants and you’ll be looking cute AF. Try accessorizing with some colorful jewelry to really make the outfit pop.
Sweats are perhaps, the best invention in the entire world. It’s no secret that we would spend every single day in sweats if we could. A tight tank with some baggy men’s sweats and converse says “I’m comfy, but I’m ready to take on the world.”
We’ve all worn a guy’s hoodie at least once in our lives if not all winter long. They just make the world such a better place, especially when you would rather stay in bed all day than see or talk to anyone. Pair the oversize hoodie with a pair of high-waisted shorts and booties and you’ll be ready to take on fall.
I still have my ex’s scarf and I don’t plan on giving it back because it’s honest to god one of the comfiest pieces of winter clothing I own. It’s so huge it can double as a shawl or wrap around my waist. Why not have a scarf that actually keeps you warm? Plus they look adorable in a snow bunny kind of way.
10. Thermal socks
I don’t know about you, but I can’t get enough men’s socks. They’re just so comfortable and warm and they usually have better designs than ours, tbh. Plus they poke out your of booties just the right amount to give you that edgy fall look.
More and more women are falling into the large watch trend and the truth is, it’s easier to just buy a men’s watch than to spend a ridiculous amount of cash on a women’s. Not to mention, the rustic look is very in right now.
