Dads exist to not only provide guidance for the treacherous navigation of life, but to also embarrass the ever-loving shit out of us. I’m not kidding, it’s science (probably). Dads build our moral character by subjecting us to cringe-worthy puns and making fun of our “newfangled smartphones,” and you know what? We love them for it, dammit.
Kendel Divarco, a college student from Glendale, Arizona, won a contest in high school which granted her an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas and a modeling photoshoot at the Green Valley Ranch resort. When her parents found themselves attending a conference at the very same resort, her father, Vince, simply couldn’t resist aping his daughter’s modeling photos, complete with the same locations, poses and expressions.
Kendel shared the snapshots on Twitter, and her dad has now achieved the ultimate in Dad Goals: Minor Internet Celebrity Status.
Vince endeavored to recreate all of Kendel’s most ~*serious*~ model shots — including this one, which includes pensive gazing at some object which is vaguely in the distance …
… Stretching out by the pool, showing off both of their curves …
… Needlessly scuffing this pristine glass window (but whatever, it’s for the sake of art and comedy) …
… and proudly revealing a bit of décolletage, naturally!
And if you’re assuming that Kendel was mortified by the whole thing, yelling “OMG DAAAD” and running to lock herself in her room, think again.
“My parents have always done crazy things,” she told BuzzFeed. “But I am a little upset my dad looked better than I did in most of them.”
Clearly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the modeling tree.
