Oh, God. Don’t look now, guys, but our worst fears may have been confirmed: for the first time in history, reality television may have been affected by actual reality.
After Kim Kardashian was robbed, bound, and gagged at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room last weekend, there have been a multitude of ripple effects following the incident.
Kanye West has already rescheduled two shows in Detroit and Philadelphia, and Kim flew from Paris to New York immediately following the traumatic episode. The entire Kardashian family has been keeping a remarkably low profile considering the gravity of the event, although Caitlyn Jenner took to her Instagram to comment on the matter, saying:
Love my girl! After hearing the full story, I’m so thankful she’s okay. It’s a reminder for us all to be careful in the uncertainty of this world
However, it now looks like the perilous incident may have led to the indefinite cancellation of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, as the family’s concerns about privacy are obviously at an all-time high. Apparently, the show is “on hold indefinitely,” according to Us Weekly.
“She has canceled everything for the next several weeks and will not be working,” a source told Us. “She feels safer in L.A. and wants to be home with her family.”
And even though the Kadashians are notorious for capitalizing on their life events for personal gain, the Us Weekly source says, “No footage has been shot in the couple’s apartment and family members have not shared their reactions on camera.”
So, who knows? The details are still unraveling, but it looks like we may all be deprived of a Kardashian-based reality show for the foreseeable future.
Which, for some of us, is a good thing — and for others, is an even better thing.
