Every little girl imagines what her wedding day will be like; who her prince charming will be, what kind of magical dress she’ll be wearing, and her happily ever after story. While some of these Disney fairytale themes are arguably outdated, we’d be lying if we said we didn’t wish for all of these things at one point in time and maybe there’s small part of us that still does.
Real life fairytale couple Ty Junemann and Ashley Idema were not only engaged in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland, but they had a Disney-themed wedding we could only dream of.
Ty Junemann and Ashley Idema had a magical engagement at Disneyland.
Ty proposed to Ashley at Disneyland in an intimate little spot next to Sleeping Beauty Castle and it was as adorable as you’d imagine.
Their imaginative photographer Dawn Browne told us that the couple wanted to include as many Disney themes as possible into their engagement shoot so she went to work bringing this dream to life.
“I am a Disney girl at heart and even worked at Walt Disney World for two years. It was such a huge treat to work with a couple over a shared love of all things Disney!” Browne said in an email to Berry.
She was able to incorporate details that referenced several classic Disney movies including Up, Beauty and the Beast, The Princess and the Frog, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland and Tangled.
Among our favorites was this reenactment of Up.
“When we planned their engagement session they mentioned they were planning a Disney themed wedding and they really wanted to incorporate some Disney into their engagement photos, particularly details that referenced the movie Up,” Browne explained.
And this Tangle-inspired scene.
She even has the frying pan and everything.
When it came to planning their dream wedding, Bride-to-be, Ashley Idema put her DIY skills to work to create unique Disney-inspired center pieces.
Idema envisioned the perfect mix of traditional wedding style that also paid homage to their Disney favorites. So, she went to work handcrafting (yes, by hand) intricate centerpieces for each reception table. The table themes included inspirations from Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, and Beauty and the Beast.
The head table paid tribute to their Sleeping Beauty-themed proposal.
According to Brown,
“The head table featured a miniature version of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle to commemorate the spot where Ty proposed. The guests loved it and spent part of their evening wandering around to each table,” Browne said. “It was definitely a great way to get the guests mingling!”
Every centerpiece gave the guests an adorable dose of Disney.
Our favorite part, though would have to be the Up inspired wedding cake.
The bride’s equally creative sister added cake toppers resembling Carl and Ellie’s chairs from Up.
Seriously does it get any cuter than that?
