Regardless of whether we agree with her opinions or not, we have to give major props to Amy Schumer for never being afraid to speak her mind. The comedian and actress is infamous for her brutal honesty and not shying away from the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be.
At the start of her NYC show Amy Schumer read a hilarious open letter to all those Trump supporters who walked out on her standup in Florida.
Dozens of upset Trump supporters walked out on the actress/comedian’s standup in Tampa Bay, FL after she called the Republican nominee an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.” Schumer, who is notorious for “telling it like it is,” responded to these offended Trump fans by reading a hysterical letter in the opening of her Madison Garden show.
The letter read:
Dearest Tampa, I’m sorry you didn’t want me, a comedian who talks about what she believes in, to mention the biggest thing going on in our country right now. How could I think it was OK to spend five minutes having a peaceful conversation with someone with different views?
After the show, I want you to know that I will go straight to a rehab facility that will teach me how to make all people happy. Both the rich, entitled, white people who are gonna vote for him and the very poor people—who’ve been tricked into it!
And Tampa, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have said that he was an orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster. Shouldn’t have said that. I will never again say that he is an orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster! Never again!
Leave it to Amy Schumer to tell it exactly how it is.
After finishing the letter she added,
Honestly, I’m so grateful you’re all here, and I was grateful for everyone in that audience that night, even the people that left. And I look forward to putting this all behind us in a couple weeks, when Hillary Clinton is our motherfucking president! Thank you to the good people here and in Tampa.
Safe to say, Schumer isn’t too concerned about an uproar from the Trump-supporting community. Her brutally honest and expectedly hilarious comments never fail to shed light on very real issues and we certainly can’t blame her for that.
Attendees at Schumer’s NYC show were also treated to a surprise celebrity guest, Madonna.
Music legend and comedian herself, Madonna took the stage to do her own standup as an opening act for Amy Schumer. Schumer actually opened a show for the pop star last year, so Madonna graciously returned the favor. It doesn’t get much better than that.
