Since Netflix broke the news of the upcoming Gilmore Girls revival, fans of the show have gotten all sorts of Gilmore-related treats. First, there was a monthly Stars Hollow subscription box. Then, a page from the official revival script leaked. Most recently, coffee shops all over the country hosted pop-up Luke’s Diners to give fans a chance to indulge their inner Rory and Lorelai.
Now, with barely a month until Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life goes live on Netflix, a New York City sweet shop is giving fans a chance to invent their very own Gilmore-inspired ice cream flavor.

Whether you are Team Jess or Team Dean, we are calling on you to create and name a flavor worthy of this Stars Hollow reunion. Put on your Sookie chef hat, fill up at Luke's Diner, stop by Doose’s Market, and tap into your inner Paris Geller to fire up that competitive spirit to produce pop culture references so rapid-fire it would make Lauren Graham blush. Ample Hills creamery posted a call on Instagram on Monday.
The ice cream shop asked fans to throw out their best ideas for a flavor and title that they feel represent the show. The post, of course, is peppered with tons of clever GG imagery:

Per the official rules, the contest ends on Halloween, and the winner will receive a free pint of the first prize ice cream.
The best part is, the contest is not limited to New York City residents. Anyone can enter simply by leaving a comment on the Instagram post.
The competition has only been running for two days, but at the time of this writing, the Instagram post already has over 730 comments. Some of them are clever enough even to give Lorelai a run for her money.
For instance, one commenter pitched “Netflix and Chill(ton),” which they say should be “buttered popcorn ice cream with snowcaps, pretzels and a caramel swirl.”
Another person submitted “Oy with the Poodles Already,” which they describe as a “strawberry ice cream with graham cracker bits (like a homemade Pop Tart) with marshmallow swirl and chocolate and caramel chips.”
Um, yes, please.
Gilmore ice cream is a brilliant idea by Ample Hills. In fact, our only complaint is that ice cream shops all over the country aren’t taking part. Maybe GG fans should unite nationwide and petition local shops to start their own flavor challenges. After all, if there’s anything we learned from Rory and Lorelai, it’s that junk food is a way of life, and we cannot be deprived.
