Kim Kardashian, who is typically a force to be reckoned with on social media, has essentially issued a decree of radio silence across all of her accounts following her robbery and assault in Paris, where she was bound, gagged and held at gunpoint.
And shockingly, it looks like Kim may not be ready to venture back into the public eye any time soon.
Kim has reportedly become increasingly hermit-like following the incident, and an inside source told People,“She has zero desire to resume her old life.”
“Kim’s whole life has basically changed,” the source continues. “Before, she was like a social butterfly. Now she acts much more withdrawn.”
The source also reports that Kim has been “much more nervous” as of late, and “doesn’t want to be photographed” — a rather startling revelation for those of us who are familiar with her Snapchat and Instagram accounts.
“On every solo outing, she uses a bodyguard,” says the source. “Before the robbery, she would enjoy solo outings. This has totally changed now.”
Even Kim’s upcoming 36th birthday on October 21st isn’t enough to coax her out to a party or an event.
“Kim is still figuring out what she wants to do,” the insider reports. “She has no plans for any public appearances.”
Fortunately, staying out of the public eye may very well be the most advantageous move, in terms of self-care. After all, Kim may receive her fair share of public attention — but only a small percentage of that net attention could be considered “favorable.” It makes perfect sense that Kim might not relish the prospect of taking up her mantle as the media’s favorite punching bag right now.
“She just wants to be with her kids and out of public,” says the source. “No one is pressuring her either. She has the best support from her family.”
While it’s difficult to imagine a world without a publicity-hungry Kim Kardashian, perhaps the whole ordeal can serve as a reminder that Kim isn’t just a brand — she’s an actual human person.
