Viewers can anticipate tonight’s 50th Annual Country Music Awards to be chock full of performances from numerous music legends.
Amidst the lineup of iconic country stars taking the stage in Nashville this evening, an unexpected artist’s name has been confirmed and people are losing their minds. Yes, it’s true…Queen Bey herself, the one and only Lemonade creator will be crossing genre lines at the 2016 CMAs.
CMT has officially confirmed that Beyoncé will be performing at “Country Music’s Biggest Night.”
Multiple sources have also confirmed to PEOPLE that Beyoncé is currently in Nashville, which just happens to be where the CMAs will be airing from live tonight on ABC.
Though she isn’t known for being involved in the country music scene, Bey won’t be the first pop artist to appear at the CMAs. We can’t forget Justin Timberlake taking the stage alongside country star Chris Stapleton at the 2015 awards to perform their tracks “Tennessee Whiskey” and “Drink You Away.”
But the real question is, what will Beyoncé perform!?
This doesn’t seem like the crowd for “Formation” or “Drunk In Love,” but maybe a duet with one of country’s biggest stars is in the works. Then again, she could do a solo performance of the country-twinged “Daddy Lessons” off of Lemonade or even cover a country classic.
Whatever Queen Bey decides to perform, we have no doubt that she’ll positively slay.
Tune in tonight for the full CMA Awards, airing live from Nashville at 8/7c on ABC.
