Don’t worry guys — Brad Pitt is is doing just fine.
Pitt stepped out on the red carpet on Wednesday to promote his new film, Allied, and commune with some of his fans. It was his first public appearance since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from the actor back in September.
It was also his first public appearance since he was cleared of charges of child abuse by the Los Angeles Country Department of Children and Family Services. The charges were filed after Pitt allegedly struck Jolie’s son, Maddox, in a drunken rage on an airplane. The investigation concluded that the particular incident didn’t constitute child abuse, and denied Jolie’s claims that Pitt had a “pattern of misconduct.”
Naturally, after all that, ol’ Brad was looking a little weary on Wednesday.
But, that didn’t stop him from signing autographs and posing for selfies with his fans.
And in case you were wondering, yes — Brad Pitt will literally stoop to being in your selfie.
Pitt also made his first statement which alluded to his divorce, and the general air of garbage publicity that’s surrounded him as of late.
“It’s really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here,” he said, then added, “It’s really nice to have all the support.”
While the past few months have probably been nightmarish for the whole Jolie-Pitt clan, Brad’s easygoing demeanor certainly belies the turbulent undercurrents of the situation.
While I’m sure there’s plenty of plenty of unpleasantness still to come (divorce proceedings aren’t typically friendly affairs), it’s nice to just pretend for a moment that we’re still living in a Brangelina world.
