Chrissy Teigen Fires Back At Critics Of Her Skin-Baring AMAs Gown

Chrissy Teigen is such a goddess, you guys. If she’s not tweeting up a storm, savaging whiny trolls (including the President-Elect), she’s out on the red carpet looking like the hottest mom of all freakin’ time. When she showed up to the American Music Awards on Sunday night, she wore a black Yousef Akbar gown, which—in the tradition of nearly-naked gowns like JLo’s Versace number from the Grammys in 2000 and Beyonce’s jeweled Givenchy at the 2015 Met Gala—showed a gutsy amount of skin.

The gown featured daring splits up to her ribcage and had gold safety pins that were an attempt to ensure the strategically placed fabric would cover her lady parts.

But obviously, there are things like, oh, you know, open air that precluded that from being the case. And if you were looking closely, yeah, you probably caught a glimpse of Chrissy’s hooha. Now, that’s being billed as a—gasp—“wardrobe malfunction!”

Of course this lead to an onslaught of criticism from Twitter users who gave Chrissy a hard time for the gown choice.

Her response? Perfect, as always:

Oh, please. Chrissy shouldn’t have to apologize for a thing! The woman—who I think it bears noting did give birth just 7 months ago—has an enviable body. It’s her job to look hot AF and rock haute couture in front of a bazillion cameras.

She’s also, unquestionably, an all-around class act who’s admirably fearless when it comes to expressing her opinions. And underwear or not, that’s all that really matters.
