Since Ivanka Trump has seemed to tacitly endorse all of Donald Trump’s poor choices and bad behavior (through either vocal statements of support or passive silences), it’s not terribly surprising that a significant portion of the American public is a bit peeved at Trump’s oldest (and, let’s be honest, favorite) daughter.
From the jewelry company that threw some not-so-subtle shade at Ivanka when she ordered one of their products, to the hundreds of women who have vowed to boycott her fashion collection (and the stores that stock it), the President-elect’s daughter is certainly getting her fair share of stink-eye from citizens around the country.
Thankfully, the most recent form of Ivanka backlash has come in the entertaining form of fake Amazon reviews. The Ivanka Trump Women’s Issa boot is currently for sale on Amazon, and a plethora of users are utilizing the opportunity to troll the Trump-branded footwear.
The reviews range from positive, if pointedly snarky …
… to scathing negative reviews, with a hint of magical surrealism thrown in for good measure.
One user criticized the boots for both being “right.” (DAD? How did you get on here??)
Someone else used the opportunity to mention “small hands.”
One review was weirdly positive, yet left only one star.
And yet another review urges buyers to look elsewhere if they’re attempting to find “swamp-draining boots.”
It’s unclear whether these snarky reviews will actually have any effect on sale numbers (hint: they won’t), but the whole thing is at least a humorous little Easter egg to enjoy during your frantic online holiday shopping.
If she wasn’t rich and highly-privileged, one might almost feel sorry for Ivanka. (For the record, I actually do feel sorry for her, as she is morally obligated to hug her dad on a regular basis.) As it is, here’s hoping that the comedic online reviews can hold out for a full four years — they may be just a drop in the bucket of vocal protests, but they’re still strangely cathartic.
