If you need something positive to focus on as 2016 draws to a close, focus on all the babies. This year, dozens of celebrities welcomed brand new babies and shared their cute photos and names with the world. Celebrity parents are notorious for choosing some pretty off-the-wall names (we’re looking at you, Gwyneth Paltrow), but this year there was actually a ton of cool and inspiring choices.

Whether you’re pregnant and searching for the perfect name, or you just like reading about baby names and planning for the hypothetical children you might not actually have, celebrities are the best place to look for names that are totally different, under-used, gorgeous, and creative. 5. Caleb Kelechi

Kerry Washington isn’t known for talking about her kids in public, but this October she shared her new son’s name right after he was born. She chose Caleb, which according to Nameberry means “devotion to God.” The little boy’s middle name, Kelechi, is a Nigerian name.
