Tom Hardy Reading A Bedtime Story With His Dog Is Too Pure For This World

If 2017 hasn’t yet felt like the banner year that was promised, then chin up, because the world just became a slightly happier place.

While the notoriously brutish and sexy Tom Hardy may not seem like the type to read soothing bedtime stories, the actor recently appeared on the BBC children’s television network CBeeBies to read a bedtime story with his dog, Willie. The results were surprisingly adorable and entertaining.

The bedtime story in question is You Must Bring A Hat, by Simon Philip — so, naturally, both Hardy and Willie wore their best hats to the bedtime story reading.

(Willie looks to be pretty apathetic about the whole thing, to be honest. NOT an enthusiastic hat-wearer.)

It’s abundantly evident that Hardy has a bit of practice reading bedtime stories to his own children, because achieving such dulcet tones takes practice. I won’t ruin any of the story for you (you’ll just have to watch and see for yourself why bringing a hat is so crucial), but I will say that Hardy’s delivery of the line “That’s just typical — there’s never, ever a tutu around when you need one” is enough to delight even the most skeptical viewers.

While Hardy is incredible successful as an endearing bedtime story reader, his future roles are decidedly more adult, with Hardy set to appear as Al Capone in Fonzo, and starring in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming WWII feature, Dunkirk.

In the meantime, though, we can all sit back and watch this ridiculously cute clip on repeat while imagining Hardy doing the entire thing in Bane’s voice.

What, just me?
