Like any living human, I have seen Love, Actually multiple times. And, if I’m being honest, the movie has some problematic themes, particularly concerning women (i.e., the perpetual implication that they’re most attractive when they’re fetching your coffee). However, it remains an important facet of the modern cultural zeitgeist. And let’s face it — the Christmas season probably wouldn’t be complete without overhearing the Bill Nighy version of “Christmas Is All Around.”
Now, the cast for the iconic movie is back for a short sequel, in support of Red Nose Day. Not surprisingly, the sequel will be entitled Red Nose Day, Actually, and will reveal what happened to all of our favorite turtleneck-wearing, romantically-challenged Brits.
And yes — the promo for the sequel did make me smile, even though I didn’t want to.
Just look how much older everybody looks!
Damn, it really has been a while.
Everyone’s really grown up … well, almost everyone.
Though nothing can fill the void left by the tragic death of cast member Alan Rickman, the special will be undoubtedly offer some much-needed (?) closure for Love, Actually fans everywhere — all in support of a good cause.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got that damn song stuck in my head.
I feel it in mah fingers … I feel it in mah toooes …
