Unfortunately, inaccurate news stories are an inevitable byproduct of celebrity status. No matter how shining a star’s reputation may be, glaringly distorted tabloids have the ability to tarnish their character in an instant—whether the story be true or false. That is, until said star shuts down the false publication and sets the record straight.
It seems as though one of our favorite celebs, Ariel Winter and her boyfriend Levi Meaden, recently experienced this type of defamation from one notoriously unreliable media outlet and Winter’s scathing response is pure gold.
Ariel Winter and her boyfriend Levi Meaden are easily one of the cutest young celeb couples in Hollywood.
Ugh, they’re so adorable I can barely stand it.
Recently, the infamously bogus tabloid Star Magazine ran a baseless piece about Winter and Meaden. The article claimed that Winter pays her boyfriend an allowance.
After a thorough scan of Star’s site, it appears that the piece has since been taken down. Shocker.
According to Gossip Cop, a site that debunks false tabloid pieces, the article quotes a supposed “source” as saying the “Modern Family” star is the “breadwinner” in her relationship with the actor, “but she wants to let Levi take care of her too, even if it’s with her own money.” The outlet’s assumed insider adds, “He treats her like a princess, which they’ve joked is a full-time job.”
“Some of Ariel’s friends worry that she’s throwing too much cash his way,” this supposed source also notes. “Why would he go on auditions when he can stay home and still collect a paycheck?”
After discovering the story, Winter slammed the tabloid for their fake news.
The Modern Family actress ranted on her social media accounts Wednesday evening. She asserted, “I have a BOYFRIEND and a PERSONAL ASSISTANT who are NOT the same person. I would NEVER pay my boyfriend ANY sort of allowance, nor would he EVER accept if I offered.”
Winter goes on to say, “I don’t support anyone, and I don’t need anyone to support me.”
Hell yes, girl. You tell it!
And several of her followers voiced their support.
Hopefully, that will teach Star Magazine not to mess with our girl Ariel.
