If you are one of the few who have yet to see Wonder Woman, please do yourself a favor and purchase a ticket at this exact moment. The DC film is not only phenomenal in storyline, casting and all around production—it’s also one of the most empowering female-driven superhero flicks ever created.
Of course, you don’t have to just take my word for it. The box office sales speak for themselves. In fact, Wonder Woman has even surpassed Deadpool’s earnings by millions and Ryan Reynolds’ response could not be more hilariously true to character.
On Monday, Wonder Woman‘s box office sales surpassed Deadpool‘s and Ryan Reynolds had the best possible response.
According to EW, the film has grossed more than $368 million in North America, beating Deadpool‘s earnings by $5 million.
True to his Marvel character, Reynolds wrote: “The Merc may be filthier, but her B.O. is stronger. Congrats #WonderWoman.”
(Deadpool is “The Merc with the mouth,” and B.O. is for box office.)
The photo features Deadpool’s hands in a heart formation around a golden Wonder Woman pendant and it’s honestly pretty adorable.
Wonder Woman’s director Patty Jenkins responded to Reynolds’ hilariously thoughtful post.
Patty Jenkins is the first woman ever to direct a major superhero film and she absolutely crushed it. Hell yeah!
At the moment, Deadpool still leads box office sales on a worldwide level, BUT we all know it’s only a matter of time before Wonder Woman passes him up there too.
