If you caught last night’s season 7 premier of Game of Thrones [*SPOILERS AHEAD*], you undoubtably saw Ed Sheeran’s guest spot as a Lannister bannerman Arya comes across while on the road to King’s Landing. She stops to sit down with the group as they sing songs and discuss the lives they’ve left behind while fighting someone else’s war.
If we’re being honest, we remember something about “Ed Sheeran is going to be on Game of Thrones next season.” But we did not give it much attention.
Last night we were treated to the smooth sounds of Ed + crew singing about what medieval soldiers typically always sang about: women.
Ok, but that shit was 🔥 🔥 🔥 .
And we were all like, “DAMN, get it unnamed Lannister soldier!”
Unfortunately, there were some who thought the pop star’s appearance was a little too close to IRL for them.
Mostly, people just had jokes, which is honestly the best reason to tweet about Ed’s guest role.
If HBO decides to go farther down this rabbit hole of adding musical acts to their shows, we’d like to petition Ariana Grande as a Child of the Forest.
