There’s truly nothing quite as baffling and beautiful as two young people in ostentatious, earnest love — particularly when they declare that love for all of the internet to see.
18-year-old Rozaline Siordia and 19-year-old Nathan Urias have only been together for three months, but they are apparently so in love that they pull obnoxiously cute sh*t on the regular.
Take, for instance, one night where Nathan asked Rozaline to send him selfies of her new makeup look.
(Her makeup was, admittedly, on point.)
Nathan was apparently so moved by his girlfriend’s beauty that he actually started to tear up, and even sent Rozaline his own selfie as proof.
UM. WHAT. Is this for real??
I truly can’t decided whether this is adorable, gross, or straight-up fraudulent — but perhaps that’s my bitter, older-millennial heart talking. Perhaps teens have truly become so evolved that they are emotionally magnificent now. (Then again, Romeo and Juliet was about two equally dramatic teenagers, so perhaps adolescents have been pulling this sh*t for centuries.)
Rozaline shared the text exchange to Twitter, where it went viral and garnered over 156,000 likes and 47,000 retweets.
An astounding number of people were utterly moved by the couple’s totally pure love.
Also, SO MANY people were like “Yeah, this makeup is so choice, it’s making me weep, girl.”
But, then again, other people were somewhat nauseated by the notion that anyone would believe that crying selfie was real.
Nathan insists, however, that the tears were genuine.
“She’s beautiful — anybody can see that — and just knowing that I’m with her now and for a very long time to come, filled me with a lot of emotions that came out in tears,” Nathan told BuzzFeed.
While I’m still not totally convinced that these emotions aren’t simulated, I will say that if this dude is actually sobbing over his girlfriend’s beauty, then other boyfriends everywhere need to start stepping up their damn game.
