These weight loss tattoos are inspiring people to live the life they always imagined

Plenty of people get inked to represent something about themselves. Now more than ever, it’s becoming a trend to mark the beginning or end of a weight-loss journey through permanent art. This is a great way to stay motivated since it’s a constant reminder of what he/she did (or is about to do) in order to live a healthy lifestyle. So if you’re thinking to get inked, maybe the motivational route is the way to go.

It’s been a beautiful fight

New ink. I wanted to wait until 100lbs lost… But I decided to do it at 95. And this shows me that I’ll have to fight this. Every day. Each hour. Every minute. And that’s okay. 💕 it’s my reality…. And that’s what I have to do. @muffintop2marathoner

A mother-daughter accomplishment

Perfect mother daughter experience. Tonight we got tattoos to celebrate hitting our goal weight. I could not imagine doing this with anyone else. She has pushed me beyond belief and is my motivation to keep going. Moms is on the left and me the right. Both reminders of how far we’ve come and how much we have to be proud of. @alyssa18xo

One of my goals was to lose 100lb and when I did I had planned to get a tattoo to represent my hard work… Well here it is…. the message is so fitting for me i love it… i still have at least another 50lb to lose im hoping to be able to fit into a pair of miss me jeans by then… How do you guys plan on rewarding yourself when you hit your goals/milestones? @rockin.the.new.robin

6 years later

“Never let your fear decide your fate”. I have been waiting years, and I mean YEARS to get this tattoo. Since 2011. When @awolnation released their album with “Kill your Heros” I was in love with this quote. I knew I would get it some day. But first, I knew where I wanted it that I needed to lose weight. Not only that, but I needed to discover why I liked this quote so much and what it meant to me.. I weighed 220lbs years ago. And if someone would have told me I would be where I am now I never would have believed you for a second. I didn’t want to make changes. I was afraid to make changes. And I never thought I could do this journey. But then it hit me some day, that I couldn’t live my life afraid anymore. I couldn’t let my fear, decide my fate, and live my life overweight any longer. And I had to change. For me. To have a brighter future. To get over the fear I had of failure. And now here we are, significantly lighter than that weight. And continuing to fight things we’re afraid of daily and changing what we know for better things in life. I am happy, 6 years later I FINALLY got the tattoo I have been longing to have. @harkeche

Only 34 lbs to go

I had mixed feelings about sharing my 2nd tattoo because it has such a significant meaning to me. The Roman Numerals represent my starting weight when I decided to finally make a change with my health. I chose to get the tattoo now rather than wait until I met goal because I reached a period of doubt and wanted a constant reminder of how far I’ve come for those moments when I think I won’t make it. Today I’m nearly 75 lbs now with only 34 lbs to go but a lifetime to maintain the results. @msemmabee
