5 reasons to say “Hell Yeah!” this week

Ladies and gents, it’s finally here. We made it to Friday and the weekend is only hours away. Before you go skipping off to your well-deserved happy hour, let’s take a moment to look back on all of the good news this week had to offer.

1. Britney Spears in her bikini workout montage

Britney recently shared an Instagram video montage of her workouts, and it’s pretty clear that, even on her “days off,” Brit isn’t skipping her gym time. (Wish I could say the same.) It’s also pretty clear that this montage is a thirst trap if I ever saw one. (And believe me, I’ve seen far too many.)

3. Jorah’s love letter to Daenerys on Game of Thrones

Last week’s episode of Game of Thrones had something for everybody: All of Cersei’s biggest threats to the Iron Throne in Daenerys’ war room, Ayra learning her family is nearer to her than they’ve been in years, a love scene that was actually consensual, and an epic sea battle that could upset everything we’ve been hoping for. But one thing we didn’t expect was one of the show’s unsung heroes confessing his love for our favorite fair-headed heroine for a second time.

4. Jim Gaffigan’s touching anniversary dinner with his wife

I realize we live in strange, maybe even mean times. Like you, I read the news daily shaking my head with horror how humans treat other humans. But there are some amazing people out there. When @jeanniegaffigan was diagnosed with a brain tumor so many friends, family and strangers stepped up to offer meals, help, encouragement and prayers. It really blew me away. Thank you so much for everything. One friend was @mariobatali who with his wife Suzi sent over numerous elaborate gourmet meals to feed me, the kids and our helpers. Last week I emailed Mario asking him to hep me find a place for our 14th wedding anniversary. I was trying to find a nice place for us to celebrate but given Jeannie can not comfortably eat solids I was hoping to find a place that did amazing soups (yes,in July.) I knew Mario was on vacation but I hoped he could point me in the right direction. Mario responded insisting that we come to @delposto and that he would make sure we were well taken care of. When we arrived we saw that Mario had created a custom tasting menu of various gourmet soups with accompanied wines or cocktails. Of course the whole experience was insanely amazing but the generosity of kindness and compassion by Mario was most moving. Thanks Mario

Fortunately, Jeanne is in recovery now, but Jim could not be more grateful to a close friend who made the couple’s anniversary extra special. Prepare yourself for the feels!

5. This fitness blogger’s candid honesty about her “perfect” hair

26-year-old Australian fitness blogger, Kayla Itsines, recently wrote an incredibly honest confession about her Rapunzel-like hair, and how its appearance might be somewhat deceptive to her Instagram followers. Itsines admitted that her long ponytails are actually extensions, since her natural hair is very thin — something which she constantly feels self-conscious about.
