Ever since Anna Faris and Chris Pratt announced their separation, the collective public’s belief in love has certainly plummeted. However, Faris has finally addressed the couple’s split (in a somewhat roundabout way), and she has some very inspiring, albeit bittersweet words on the matter.
On the most recent installment of her podcast, “Unqualified,” Faris started out by thanking all of her fans for their support following the separation announcement.
“Hey, dear listeners,” she said, “I just want to thank you all so much for all the love I’ve been receiving, and I truly love you.”
Later in the podcast, however, Faris gave relationship advice to one of her listeners which certainly seemed to be in reference to her relationship with Pratt.
“Don’t (be) afraid to feel your independence if things aren’t right,” she told her listeners. “Life is too short to be in relationships where you feel this isn’t fully right, or somebody doesn’t have your back, or somebody doesn’t fully value you in every way.”
She also advised against settling for any subpar relationships.
“I made that mistake, I think, a little bit, feeling like, ‘I’m checking my relationship off the list.’ And…the final advice that I could give you would be: Know your worth. Know your independence. Know that you’re young and there’s so many people out there. There’s so much life experience. I hope you get to live it all.”
Fairs’ statements certainly seemed like oblique allusions to her marriage with Pratt — but, ultimately, they’re also just solid relationship advice.
Even though we’re all still mourning the loss of this relationship, it’s heartening to know that these two ultimately made the right decision for both of them.
