It’s easy to understand why so many women believe that cellulite isn’t part of a natural or “fit” body. Given the images in advertising and on Instagram, one could easily assume that models and fitness gurus simply don’t possess butt dimples (which is what I’ve started calling my own cellulite in my latest rebranding attempt).
However, such assumptions would be wildly incorrect.
Personal trainer Sophie Allen recently shared side-by-side photos of her butt on Instagram to prove that cellulite is a natural part of life, even if you eat well and exercise regularly.
Sophie also told her followers that most people on Instagram get “rid” of their cellulite by posing accordingly in photos — and that the smooth rumps you see in those pics could very easily be an illusion.
Her Instagram caption reads:
UNFILTERED AF**** Just keepin’ it real with y’all #ihavecellulitetoo and it appears when I squeeze my butt & disappears with the simple act of slightly tilting my hips out! Don’t ever let instagram take away from your achievements, cause there’s a lot of editing, tilting, posing, angles, lighting and all the rest going on. We alll do it. Just don’t beat yourself up if you feel like you see all these celluliteless peeps out there. We have to embrace and love our bodies as they are, whilst working towards our healthiest, strongest selves
So, stop hating on your cellulite and comparing yourself to the bodies you see on Instagram.
After all — chances are, they’re just tilting their hips forward.
