Chris Pratt & Anna Faris are apparently going to couples counseling

When Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced their separation earlier this month, the news shook fans everywhere. It seemed so deflating to think that this funny, loving couple couldn’t make things work, and made many question their belief in love. (Okay, maybe not quite that dramatic, but you get what I’m saying.)

That said, there remains a love between Pratt and Faris that is unifying the two of them enough to attend couples counseling — although the counseling is not for reconciliation.

A source tells People that the two are going to counseling so that they can be better parents for their son, Jack, during this difficult time.

“They are going through couples counseling now, which is what you do when you want to divorce and there are children involved,” the source says. “It won’t likely change the status but it could help with their future coparenting … Their work separations have taken a toll, and it is not likely that the marriage can be repaired enough to work right now. But there is still love between them.”

So, if you were hoping that the two might miraculously reignite their love and call off the divorce, you may need to keep hoping. Although divorce looks imminent, there is always a minute chance that going to counseling will help to repair enough of the relationship damage for these two to move forward together. As People reports:

As for a reconciliation, “never say never,” says the sources. But Pratt and Faris’s marriage faced serious problems centered around their difficult work schedules and the action star’s growing fame.

Considering Pratt’s upcoming projects, which include a cameo in another installment of the Avengers series as well as a Jurassic World sequel, it’s unlikely that his rising star will slow down enough to make the marriage work for both himself and Faris.

But, hey. Hope springs eternal. At the very least, these two are united in being solid parents for their son, regardless of their relationship status.
