See how many titles you’ve conquered on Amazon’s list of ‘100 books to read in a lifetime’

There are two kinds of readers in this world: those who casually pick up a book to read while on vacation, and those who LIVE to read.

The latter absorb the written word like oxygen. They’ve read the story long before it was ever green-lit as a TV show or movie. They can give you a typed and laminated list if you ask them for a recommendation.

These are also the types of people who make up Amazon Books editorial team, and they’ve compiled a list of 100 titles that they deem the most important works as they apply to our lives:

We wanted the list to cover all stages of a life (which is why you’ll find children’s books in here), and we didn’t want the list to feel like homework. Of course, no such list can be comprehensive – our lives, we hope, are long and varied – but we talked and argued and sifted and argued some more and came up with a list, our list, of favorites.”

How many of these titles have you read, are planning on reading, loved, hated, and cherished?
