Mila Kunis talks about how being a mother to two little kids has her ‘ragged tired’

Mila Kunis’ character, Jackie, was never one to shy away from expressing her opinions on That 70’s Show. And, as it turns out, the real Mila isn’t afraid to get candid, either.

Kunis recently spoke to Marie Claire about the frank realities of motherhood and being a woman in Hollywood. Mila has two kids with husband Ashton Kutcher: 3-year-old Wyatt Isabelle, and 10-month-old Dimitri Portwood. Kunis says that although she gets completely strung out and exhausted, her top priority is always her kids.

“What motherhood shows you is how selfless you can get,” she tells Marie Claire. “I’m ragged tired. Who cares? My kids are healthy, I’m happy.”

She also adds that she wants to instill certain lessons in her kids early on (which is partially why she and Ashton are reportedly not giving their kids Christmas presents this year). “What I want my daughter to learn from me is the value of hard work.”

While it’s difficult raising two kids and simultaneously dealing with the rampant sexism inherent to the Hollywood industry, Kunis says that her fury over inequality in the workplace only fuels her. “I do sometimes come back from work like, ‘What the fuck?’ But anger is good. It motivates us to strive to be better.”

Ultimately, Mila says that she’s gone from overthinking everything to simply accepting the fact that most things are out of her hands. After all, being a parent is hard enough without worrying yourself over matters you can’t control.

“We could get struck by lightning any second. So why worry? There’s something so empowering about being, ‘Whatever’s going to happen is going to happen.’ Over the past four or five years, I’ve realized how much I enjoy that feeling.”
