No matter how hard you try to forget certain “fashion” trends, some continue to haunt your thoughts months, if not years later. Which is exactly why a cosmetic scorpion trend out of Mexico that was discovered last year just can’t be forgotten. So if you need a reminder that people actually pay to get scorpions on their nails, here it is.
Women in Mexico are having dead scorpions attached to their nails as part of a new manicure technique.
The idea for scorpion nail art originated with scorpion connoisseur Lupita Garcia.
These little critters are applied with tweezers to the nail, and then coated with a thick acrylic paste.
Most of the scorpions are less than a week old when they are killed for nail art use.
And here is the finished product…
