I have some good and bad news for my fellow 90s kids. Our favorite teenage witch Sabrina Spellman is coming back to our TVs, but unfortunately Melissa Joan Hart will not be reprising the role.
Melissa can’t stay young forever so Netflix had to do some searching for a look-a-like. They found the perfect match in Kiernan Shipka.
The Mad Men star will slip into the shoes of the half-witch, half-mortal in the Untitled Sabrina Project. It’s being adapted from the comic The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and will follow Sabrina as the sorceress who tries to find a balance between being a high school student and fighting the forces of darkness.
First of all, Kiernan looks like a young Melissa clone.
She not only has the blonde hair and dark eyebrows that Melissa had during the run of the show, but she already looks like a child of the 90s.
She’s often seen sporting 90s attire.
Kiernan can definitly rock a pair of funky sunglasses.
Nothing like a plaid dress and feathered slip-ons to scream 90s.
And she’s great with animals.
Sabrina spends a lot of time with her cat Salem so Kiernan shouldn’t have any trouble getting along with cat actors.
Get excited because we’re already confirmed to get 20 episodes of this gal playing Sabrina.
The series has been picked up for two seasons but a premiere date has not been confirmed yet.
To top it off, Harvey Kinkle is also coming back.
If you are able to zoom in, you’ll see script lines for Sabrina’s crush Harvey.
“I… wanted you to see where I was born, Harvey. Not in Greendale General, like it says on my birth certificate. Here. In this grove of trees. Almost 16 years ago. And, uhm, where I’ll be reborn this Saturday night. On my birthday. At the stroke of midnight. In the middle of a penumbral lunar eclipse. The kind that only happens once every 66 years. That’s why I can’t go to Rosalind’s Halloween party this weekend.”
